Position Summary |
Job Description The goal of the Campus Safety Monitor is to assist in the supervisory capacity in the provision of security and protection of all students, staff, and property. |
Benefits: Full benefits including paid holidays, sick leave and annual leave, health insurance and retirement. Local supplement of 5.5 % starts the month after completion of first year. State longevity after 10 years of service. |

Essential Duties |
Develops positive relations with students, staff and the public, understands and ensures compliance with school rules, Board policies and general provisions of the school safety plan. Calls law enforcement for assistance when authorized by the school administrator, in accordance with written school safety and emergency action plans. Patrols school site buildings and grounds to prevent fire, theft, vandalism, and illegal entry Conducts patrol inspections of doors, windows, and gates to determine that they are secure Confronts unauthorized persons for questioning, routes or detains them, or calls police for assistance, according to the emergency action plan Sounds fire signal to alert fire department and school personnel in event of fire and assists in extinguishing fire Reports any unusual conditions or malfunctioning of heating, plumbing, or electrical system.check cars for parking authorization; to determine if vehicles are parked in restricted areas, such as near fire hydrants or in driveways; and to check exterior lighting and emergency access routes Makes written reports of security violations Perform related duties as assigned by supervisor Maintain compliance with all school policies and procedures Adheres to strict confidentiality of student records and information Must be able to work modified hours including nights or weekends when deemed necessary by the Safe Schools Director. |
Education/Experience Requirements |
High school diploma/GED required Prior successful work experience with students Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable Must be in physical status that allows for extended walking, movement and on your feet for extended hours. |

REQUIRED TRAINING PROVIDED BY THE DISTRICT OR THE SCHOOL: Must complete de-escalation & conflict resolution training Crowd Manager Training School Crossing Guard Training First Aid/First Responder Training Other training deemed necessary for performance of the job. |
