Requirements / Qualifications

-Resume -High School Diploma or valid equivalency (from an accredited U.S. institution/agency) -Valid American Red Cross Standard First Aid Certificate/CPR -48 General Education College Units (attach transcripts) OR proof of passing the District Exam Please note: Emailed or faxed documents will not be accepted.

Knowledge of: Basic concepts of child growth and development Oral and written communication skills Correct English usage, grammar, and punctuation Principles of child guidance Behaviors and special problems of severely disabled students Ability to: Physically demonstrate instruction in sensory motor activities Understand and follow oral and written directions Work cooperatively and communicate effectively with others Lift and assist immobilized students Maintain records and prepare reports Administer first aid properly Operate school machines and equipment Perform routine clerical duties Perform the essential functions of the job Working Conditions: Classroom or special learning environment Physical Abilities: Lifting, carrying, and physically assisting students (up to 60 lbs without assistance) Pushing students in wheelchairs Seeing to monitor student work and read materials Hearing and speaking to exchange information Using hands/fingers to operate instructional and medical equipment Bending, kneeling, or crouching to assist students Sitting or standing for extended periods Hazards: Contact with blood and other body fluids Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of the job.
