Senior Land Access Specialist – Permanent Full Time – Perth CBD

Be part of WA’s energy transformation. Join Western Power’s Social Performance and Approvals team and help shape the future of sustainable infrastructure across the state.

As WA moves toward net zero emissions by 2050, we’re reengineering the electricity network to support large-scale renewable energy generation. This bold transition demands visionary thinking, strong partnerships, and a deep commitment to community.

We’re seeking a Senior Land Access Specialist to lead engagement with landowners and stakeholders impacted by major transmission projects. In this pivotal role, you’ll secure access to public and private land, navigate complex negotiations, and ensure seamless delivery of critical infrastructure. Your expertise in consultation, document control, and relationship-building will help drive one of the most significant energy shifts in WA’s history.

Your Role in Action

  • Lead with expertise – Provide strategic guidance on sustainable asset positioning and land access agreements to support network development and management.
  • Build trusted partnerships – Manage and nurture relationships with landowners impacted by major infrastructure projects, including transmission lines, substations, and communications towers.
  • Collaborate across teams – Coordinate with internal specialists to deliver clear, actionable land access and approvals advice that drives project success.
  • Resolve with purpose – Proactively manage conflict resolution to minimise disruptions, enable smooth delivery of works, and uphold Western Power’s reputation.
  • Shape smarter solutions – Contribute to asset placement reports by identifying opportunities, constraints, and landowner approval pathways.
  • Drive strategic change – Influence and enhance easement, land access, and statutory approval frameworks to future-proof infrastructure access.
  • Empower others – Mentor and support team members, sharing technical knowledge and fostering excellence in land access and approvals.

What Makes You a Great Fit

  • Expertise meets experience – Hold a relevant degree (Engineering, Law, Urban Planning, Environmental Science, etc.) or bring extensive hands-on experience in land access, easements, and infrastructure development.
  • Data-driven insight – Skilled in extracting, analysing, and managing complex datasets across domains, with proficiency in geospatial applications and a sharp eye for data integrity.
  • Infrastructure intelligence – Deep understanding of linear infrastructure systems and the legislative frameworks governing land access and easement acquisition—ideally within a utility context.
  • Strategic communicator – Exceptional interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills, with the ability to influence diverse stakeholders and navigate sensitive community consultations.
  • Independent and accountable – Proven ability to work autonomously under pressure, manage risks, meet deadlines, and ensure compliance across all project phases.
  • Field-ready knowledge – Familiarity with construction, maintenance, and operational practices, backed by a valid WA Driver’s Licence (Class C or C-A) for on-site engagement.

By joining Western Power, you will contribute to powering a cleaner energy future. We are dedicated to fostering career development and promoting a healthy work-life balance, empowering you to drive innovation as we develop a network that will serve the Western Australian community for generations. You will also benefit from a range of perks and opportunities, including:

  • Over 50% of our employment opportunities are driven by career progression.

  • The opportunity to purchase up to four weeks of additional leave per year.
  • Access to salary packaging, social club activities, and discounted health insurance and gym membership.
  • An award-winning employee recognition and benefits programme.
  • An innovative team culture that’s enabling the transition to renewable energy and decarbonisation.
  • In addition to standard leave, enjoy three wellness leave days each year.
  • Access to end-of-trip facilities at our Perth office and South Metro Depot, perfect for cyclists.
