Forklift Operator I (GA,TX) presso JBSS Inc.

Position Summary

We are seeking a skilled Forklift Operator I to join our warehouse team. This role involves operating stand-up (reach), sit-down forklifts, and electric pallet jacks to support daily warehouse operations. The ideal candidate will have experience in material handling, inventory management, and shipping/receiving processes. This position may also be called upon to train others.

Key Responsibilities

• Pick work order demands and stage products for production use.
• Accurately pick products to fulfill customer orders and load trucks.
• Ship orders using WMS scanning equipment and complete outbound paperwork.
• Unload trucks/containers, verify receipts, and receive inventory into the system.
• Inspect trucks and transfer processed products to storage.
• Operate shrink-wrap machine and maintain warehouse cleanliness.
• Conduct equipment battery changes and pre-op inspections.
• Rotate inventory using FIFO or FEFO methods.
• Report discrepancies and issues to the warehouse supervisor.
• Support food safety and quality standards including GMP, HACCP, FSMA, and SQF.
• Promote a safe work environment through proper safety practices and observations.
• Collaborate with team members and participate in ongoing development.

Qualifications

Education & Experience:

• Minimum 6 months of forklift operation experience.
• General warehouse experience preferred.

Certifications:

• JBSS-issued material handling equipment certification required.

Skills & Competencies:

• Basic math skills.
• Ability to read, write, and speak English (preferred).
• Strong interpersonal skills and teamwork.
• Ability to stand for 8–12 hours and lift up to 55 lbs.
• Comfortable working around dust, allergens, and loud noises.

Additional Requirements

• Mandatory overtime may be required based on business needs.
• In case of absence, coverage will be provided by a qualified substitute designated by the Department Manager.

Supervisory Responsibilities:
This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.
