Reports To: QA Manager
Position Summary: The QA Engineer is responsible for the creation of tests to identify issues with software before the product launch. This role is responsible for identifying and analyzing any bugs and errors found during the test phase and documenting them for review after. The QA Engineer is critical in collaborating with the product management and engineering teams to ensure high-quality products are achieved. Additionally, this role is responsible for developing and running new tests and reporting on the results to appropriate stakeholders.
Essential Job Functions (include but are not limited to):
- Owns the quality strategy of an entire group of features or a major piece of a system and may serve as a quality lead on small-size to mid-size complex projects.
- Work independently requiring minimal supervision and rework.
- Write and maintain test plans and simple to more complex test automation based on well-defined feature requirements.
- Maintain high-quality test environment by reporting defects found.
- Communicate issues effectively to teammates and escalates concerns promptly and appropriately.
- Work hand in hand with the Product Development team and the Product Owner to help produce high-value product features resulting in a greater user experience.
- Achieve effectiveness despite ambiguous or incomplete specifications by driving refinement of those specifications.
- Demonstrate strong skill in reproducing and troubleshooting more complex unexpected product behavior even if intermittent and identify, track, and accurately report defects found.
- Basic to Intermediate knowledge of object-oriented programming (OOP) languages (C# or JavaScript preferred).
- Be an active participant in a self-organized scrum development team, bringing accountability and professionalism toward working as a highly functional team.
- Grooming/planning – Help ensure user stories are well-groomed and have clear objective outcomes.
- Review/retrospectives – Be a vocal participant, willing to share ideas and constructive feedback.
- Attention to detail with the ability to test and catch any issues early in the development life cycle process.
- Ability and willingness to question anything or anyone being the voice of the customer.
- Ability to take security recommendations and implement into the test plans for any needed testing.
- Follows all company policies and procedures
- Coordinate job/equipment flow and schedule with team and customers
- Complete and demonstrate a full understanding of ongoing training concepts and applications

Requirements
Education/Skills/Experience:
- 1-2+ years’ experience in QA or similar roles
- Bachelors in related field
- Good attention to detail, organizational skills, and meets deadlines

Physical requirements:
- Stand or sit for extended periods of time
Work Environment:
- Primarily indoors, controlled temperature environment
- Ability to work in a plant work environment with a variety of noise levels including high to moderate noise due to hand tools, machinery, heavy equipment, forklift, crane, hoist, pallet jacks, alarms, and general conversations
- Ability to learn and operate a variety of technical hardware and software products
- Ability to work in a team environment and communicate in a professional manner

Safety Requirements:
- Immediately report incidents involving injury, illness, property, or equipment damage

Training to be completed:
