O Bee Credit Union is hiring a Payment Services Specialist to join our amazing team in our Operations Department. This is a full-time role that plays a vital part in supporting our mission, our Members, and our one-of-a-kind company culture.


What You’ll Do

As our Payment Services Specialist, you’ll be responsible for the efficient and effective processing of ACH, drafts/check files, wire transfers, and other payments-related duties.


Responsibilities

Operational Excellence:

  • Process consumer and business ACH files, including notifications of change, disputes, and returns.
  • Assist team members and Members with payment-related inquiries.
  • Assist and process unauthorized or stop payments.
  • Process daily check files, returned check files, exceptions and check adjustments.
  • Handle incoming and outgoing wire transfer processes, returns, and conduct research as necessary.
  • Process adjustments for Shared Branching transactions.
  • Assist with account charge offs, debit and credit exceptions and research.
  • Complete quality control tasks and account file maintenance reporting.
  • Process incoming and outgoing bill payment exceptions.
  • Process state and business account payroll files.
  • Ensure accurate and timely reconciliation of ACH settlements.
  • Recognize and identify ACH compliance issues and report to management.
  • Accurately image and maintain Credit Union files and documentation to ensure proper indexing and accessibility.
  • Maintain strong collaborative relationships with our Fraud, Compliance, Business Services, and Member Experience departments.
  • Participate in special projects as requested.

Member Experience & Service Delivery:

  • Provide research, support and collaboration with Team Members in pursuit of world class Member service.

Compliance & Risk Management:

  • Maintain comprehensive knowledge of Credit Union operations, policies, procedures, products and services.
  • Adhere to all relevant regulations including NACHA rules, Regulation E, etc.
  • Ensure compliance with security, audit, regulatory, and privacy policies, including the Bank Secrecy Act.

Perform additional duties as needed to contribute to the success of O Bee Credit Union.


What Desired Qualifications You’ll Bring

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of three years in a customer service role.
  • At least two years of direct experience in a financial institution.
  • Experience with ACH, draft and wire processing, transaction adjustment and payments research preferred.
  • Strong proficiency in written and verbal communication, problem-solving, and attention to detail.
  • Previous Symitar software experience is preferred.
  • Proven analytical and technical skills, ability to independently troubleshoot and problem solve.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborateeffectively across functions and levels of the Credit Union.
  • Must be able to pass a background and credit check.

The Details

  • Location: Administration Building, Lacey, WA
  • Pay range: $23.61-$35.42 and is dependent on experience.
