About the Department

The Food Concessionaire/Customer Service position is responsible for providing quality customer service information for M Health Fairview Sports Center customers in person, through electronics and by telephone. Responsibilities include operating a POS cash register system, preparing and serving food and beverage products, selling admissions to programs and events, team room key check outs, skate rental, and assisting with operational tasks such as event set up or custodial duties.

Searching for individuals to work as part of a dynamic team during our peak season months of October-March. Work availability must include a combination of weekday evenings and weekends, with an emphasis on Friday evening, Saturday and Sunday availability.

Position Duties

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
For Concessions:
Prepares food and beverage products, restocks products and is ready for busy rushes during evenings, high school games and tournaments.
Takes orders for food and beverage products; serves them in a timely and professional manner.
Operates a POS cash register system to collect admissions for programs or processing customer food and beverage purchases and payments following the M Health Fairview Sports Center cash handling policy.
Possesses knowledge and preparation of all menu items in concessions area.
Maintains a clean, sanitized and well-organized work and prep area following food handling and safety guidelines.
For Customer Service: 
Performs basic customer service duties including providing information in person, through electronics and by telephone
Provides team room keys following the checkout procedure and directs participants to the proper team room/arena.
Hands out rental skates for ice arena programs and skating on the outdoor rink.
Collects admissions for paid open programs and helps monitor the rink and field activities.
Assists with set-up, removal or storage of tables and chairs for meetings or special events.
Works as a team member, performing basic cleaning and custodial duties.
Performs other duties as assigned or apparent.

TOOLS AND EQUIPMENT USED:
Cleaning equipment such as brooms, mops, concessions oven, hot dog roller, popcorn machine, personal computers and other equipment used to facilitate this job description.

Minimum Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Must be 15 years of age or older
Availability to work weekday evenings and weekends

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Past experience in a service-related field
Knowledge of recreation facility operation or a sports background

The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, and the ability to focus.
The employee will be exposed to various cleaning agents, de-icers, and other products used in the performance of this job description.

Noise levels in the work environment are usually quiet while in the office, moderately noisy in the remainder of the facility with the exception to be very noisy when the arena is occupied.
Neither smoking nor the use of any tobacco product is allowed in the facility.
The employee is frequently exposed to changes in temperatures, as the indoor arenas and seasonally operated outdoor rink are significantly cooler than the remainder of the facility.
