The Staff Physical Therapist will organize and conduct a medically prescribed physical therapy program to restore function and prevent disability following disease, injury, or loss of a body part. They will also help the patient reach their maximum performance and integrate into society while learning to live within their capabilities. Staff Physical Therapists work as part of the rehabilitation team to provide physical therapy services.

  • Gather and analyze patient data from physical examinations and medical history to create a written evaluation and plan of care within 24 hours of the patient encounter.
  • Deliver evidence-based physical therapy interventions aimed at meeting or exceeding national benchmarks for functional improvement, as measured by Focus on Therapeutic Outcomes (FOTO) scores.
  • Accurately document all physical therapy treatments, ensuring that charges are generated and notes are locked by midnight on the day of the patient encounter.
  • Demonstrate all APTA core values, including accountability, altruism, compassion, excellence, integrity, professional duty, and social responsibility.
  • Maintain clear, professional communication (interpersonal, written, verbal, and electronic) with patients, colleagues, and the public, upholding the core values of Nor-Lea Hospital District and APTA. Written communication should follow proper grammar, syntax, spelling, punctuation, and standard medical terminology abbreviations.
