Senior Water Quality Technician - $26.55 - $35.39 Hourly ($55,224 - $73,611 Annually)

Responsible for collecting and testing bacteriological samples to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. This role includes coordinating sampling activities, supporting laboratory operations, and maintaining standards to meet regulatory requirements.

Position Duties

  1. Collect samples in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to ensure accurate and reliable sampling techniques.
  2. Gather specialized samples as per established monitoring schedules to meet regulatory requirements.
  3. Coordinate sample pickups and ensure prompt delivery to the laboratory for testing.
  4. Perform administrative tasks, such as filing, scanning, and organizing documents, to support lab operations.
  5. Assist scientists with laboratory tasks and testing procedures as needed, contributing to a smooth workflow.
  6. Carry out additional laboratory duties as required to maintain operational efficiency.
  7. All other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

Any combination of training and experience that would provide the required knowledge, skills, and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain that required qualification would be:

  1. A minimum of a high school diploma or GED issued from an Approved GED Administrator.
  2. Minimum of one-year relevant work experience.
  3. Must possess and maintain a valid State of Florida Class E Driver's License.
