As a member of our Overnight Crisis Team, you’ll play a critical role in ensuring every call is met with compassion, calm, and rapid support.
About the Role:
The Overnight Dispatch Specialist is the first voice of help for individuals experiencing mental health crises after hours. You’ll triage incoming calls, assess risks, gather critical information, and quickly dispatch the right crisis response team or community resource.
This is more than a dispatch job—it’s a frontline role that requires empathy, quick thinking, and a steady presence during high-pressure situations.
Essential Functions of Dispatch Specialist:
- Answer and triage crisis calls, texts, and referrals from individuals, families, and community partners overnight
- Assess urgency, gather vital information, and ensure clear communication with crisis responders
- Dispatch Rapid Responders or connect callers with appropriate internal or community-based services
- Opens a client chart into the electronic health record within 24 hours utilizing the data from the Rapid Response Team face sheet and email.
- Maintain detailed, accurate documentation of all interactions and dispatches
- Monitor crisis call logs, manage dispatch schedules, and adhere to protocols for high-risk situations
- Activate emergency services when required and follow mandated reporting guidelines
Compensation and benefits:
- Part time position – Monday - Friday 5:00 pm - 8:00 pm
- Starting at $17.00 per hour

What You Bring:
- High School diploma or equivalent (required)
- Experience in crisis response, call center operations, healthcare, or behavioral health (preferred)
- Strong communication, active listening, and critical thinking skills
- Ability to remain calm, professional, and effective under pressure
- Comfort with technology and data entry systems
- Commitment to confidentiality, ethics, and providing respectful care
