Berry Corporation (bry) has an opening for an Intern – Geosciences in our Bakersfield, California office, who will work within a cross-functional team focusing on developing knowledge, skills, and abilities in geological work for a petroleum based system. This project-based internship reporting to the Geology & Geophysical Manager, working directly with more experienced geologists and management. The intern will work full-time Monday through Thursday (9 hours) and every other Friday (8 hours) from May through August. Key Accountabilities
- Learns and engages in fundamentals of geology.
- Witnesses key operations and may practice operational functions with assistance or guidance from more experienced geologists or management.
- Consistently seeks opportunities to assist and learn from more experienced geologists.
- Supplements learning by studying graphs, charts, and previous analyses.
- Assists with the development/exploitation geology of an oilfield.
- Collaborates with engineers to recommend drill locations and recompletions.
- Works within an integrated team of geologists and engineers.
- Collaborates with the technical teams in the optimization and development of oilfield operations.
- Interprets logs and data related to geological findings and analyzes information such as maps, site samples, and other types of data.
- Assists with the completion and management of 3D geo-models.
- Observes and assists in recommending drilling locations, wireline interpretation, 2D/3D modeling, subsurface mapping, reserve calculations, and reporting oil in place.
- Assists in creating pre- and post-project reports to explain and summarize activity for records.
- Assists in the development and implementation of extraction strategies.
- Complies with all the Company's Safety and Environmental policies, practices, and programs. Takes corrective action within training limitations. Escalates as necessary.
- Participates in and adheres to all training programs designed to enhance HSE knowledge, safety standards, and job performance.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Education, Certificates, Licenses
- Currently pursuing a degree in Geosciences from an accredited institution.

Work Environment
- Primarily office work environment.
- Routine work involves common office activities during a typical 9-hour day such as standing, sitting, walking, typing, and twisting as necessary.
- May be required to occasionally lift up to 25 pounds.
- Must follow all company safety policies, including when visiting field locations.

Compensation & Benefits
The pay range for this position is between $25.00 - $35.00 an hour based on a full-time schedule. This position is eligible for a relocation bonus, 9/80 flex schedule, sick, & holiday pay.
