The IT Programmatic Support Specialist is responsible for securing and monitoring data accessed, transmitted, and stored. They will be accountable for advising and validating controls to ensure that protection aligns with policies, procedures, and risk management. In the event of any incidents or suspected events, the specialist will collaborate closely with the information security and incident response teams. They will assist in data calls coordination and may assist with help desk duties.
Requirements
- Support the email data loss prevention (DLP) program by monitoring the DLP service to review quarantined messages for release or blocking.
- Assist SRS employees when emails are blocked from leaving SRS due to the email filter rules. This includes educating personnel on encryption requirements and capabilities, educating personnel on how the filter works, and reviewing and releasing emails.
- Routinely review the filter for emails with government information being sent to personal/non-government accounts. Notify individuals of the Cyber Code of Conduct and Information Security requirements.
- Support the release of information (ROI) process by conducting reviews and cleansing documents prior to release to external organizations as needed.
- Respond to all DOE-SR public release requests within specified request timeframes (usually 1-5 business days).
- Add a red stamp that states “Approved for Public Release. ROI Request # ***” to DOE-SR documents submitted into the Request for Information Review Release application.
- Sanitize DOE-SR documents and replace the original document with the sanitized version (.pdf, .doc, .ppt, .xls, .jpg, .txt, videos, etc.).
- Approve requests on behalf of DOE-SR Cyber.
- Perform data collection, review, and entry of various IT and cybersecurity data calls for reporting purposes and support federal oversight by identifying inaccuracies and errors in reported data.
- Provide backup support to the IT Help Desk, including responding to user trouble tickets based on established service level agreements and assisting users with installation and configuration issues relating to supported software applications and standard hardware configurations as well as general network access.
- Build and deploy computer systems, including image management.
- Perform sanitization of IT equipment.
- Conduct lunch and learns, webinars, and training for current and new applications.
- Perform other duties assigned.

- Must possess an excellent command of the English language and good communication skills, including the ability to comprehend and convey detailed technical data.

- Ability to perform each duty assigned thoroughly and independently.
- ·Ability to present material orally and in writing sufficient to present issues and/or to effectively communicate and provide advice and assistance to AMSS staff and management-level personnel.
Clearance:
- Must possess (or be able to obtain) a “Q” level security clearance.
Education:
- High School Diploma or GED.
Experience:
- 1 year of IT support and data entry (preferred).
