About Us:
Norridge Park District’s Early Care Program is a nurturing early childhood education center committed to providing a safe, engaging, and developmentally appropriate environment for young children. We are seeking a dependable, organized, and flexible individual who can support both our administrative office and classrooms.

Position Summary:
This unique role combines office administration with classroom support. The ideal candidate will have prior experience in an early childhood classroom as well as a background in office administration. You will be responsible for ensuring smooth daily operations in the office while also stepping into the classroom as needed to support teachers and children.

Key Responsibilities:

Office Duties (not limited to)

  • Maintain and update staff and children’s files
  • Enter new children into our system accurately and efficiently
  • Schedule tours for prospective families and greet visitors
  • Keep the office organized, clean, and welcoming
  • Answer doorbell, receive phone calls, and take messages
  • Support general administrative tasks as needed

Classroom Duties (not limited to) 

  • Substitute for teachers during vacations, absences, or breaks
  • Assist teachers with daily routines and classroom schedules
  • Help with diapering, potty training, and overall childcare needs
  • Support and implement planned activities for children
  • Provide teachers with lunch breaks and planning time
  • Maintain a safe, caring, and engaging classroom environment

Qualifications:

  • Experience working in an early childhood classroom (required)
  • Some background in office administration or clerical work (required)
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to multitask and adapt to changing needs throughout the day
  • Comfortable with technology and learning new systems
  • Reliable, professional, and team-oriented
  • Associates degree or higher in Early Childhood Education or related field. Director Qualified preferred.
