Job Description
As Technology Programme Manager, you will be at the forefront of delivering our Global Point of Sale [GPOS] transformation programme that will redefine how the organisation engages with our customers at the front line. This is a complex, high value initiative made up of interdependent projects spanning multiple regions, systems and stakeholder groups and demands supplier and contractor management. In this senior position, you will provide strategic oversight, ensuring the programme stays aligned with global business priorities while driving delivery at pace and scale.
The ideal candidate brings a very structured and disciplined approach to programme delivery. You will have deep experience in leading large-scale technology programmes – particularly within retail or customer-facing environments – combined with the ability to lead cross-functional teams, manage senior stakeholders, and bring clarity and cohesion to a fast-moving environment. You will have previously delivered a multi-year retail GPOS transformation programme from a technical aspect. The Transformation Programme Manager will play a pivotal role in ensuring the GPOS programme is delivered on time, on budget, and with the quality and consistency expected across all markets.

What You’ll Do as a Technology Programme Manager — GPOS Transformation
We want you to feel challenged and inspired. Here, you’ll develop your skills across a range of responsibilities:
- Lead the end-to-end delivery of a GPOS transformation programme workstream across multiple markets, ensuring on-time, on-budget, and to-spec delivery.
- Drive effective programme leadership - own and manage the technical budget, including forecasting, tracking, and reporting to achieve defined outcomes within scope and budget constraints.
- Establish and maintain robust programme governance, ensuring alignment with enterprise strategy, technology standards and compliance requirements.
- Embed strong programme governance utilising the existing delivery framework, including planning, reporting, requirements capture, RAID (Risks, Assumptions, Issues, Dependencies) management, and change control across their workstream.
- Ensure compliance with enterprise architecture, security, and data privacy requirements.
- Identify and mitigate risks and issues, ensuring proactive resolution and minimal disruption to delivery timelines.
- Oversee and manage external technology suppliers, vendors, and system integrators; ensure adherence to contractual commitments.
- Provide leadership and direction to technical project managers within their workstream such as infrastructure, integrations, data migration, testing and in-store device rollout.
- Champion delivery excellence using PRINCE2 or similar structured delivery methodologies.
- Build strong relationships with senior business leaders, technology colleagues, vendors, and delivery partners to ensure alignment and buy-in across the organisation.
- Provide clear vision, direction and motivation to a team of experience project and programme managers working across regions.

- Proven experience as a Senior Technical Programme Manager delivering large-scale, complex technology transformations in the retail sector
- Hands-on EPOS transformation experience at a global or multi-country level is essential
- Strong track record of technical budget management (multi-million £ budgets)
- Demonstrated expertise in supplier management, including contract negotiation and performance management
- Strong leadership and people management skills, with experience managing distributed technical teams
- Deep understanding of programme governance, planning, risk management, and reporting
- Strong proficiency in PRINCE2, MSP, or equivalent project/programme delivery frameworks
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills at all levels, including C-suite
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, evolving environment, balancing strategy and detail
- Advanced skills in programme governance
