Job Summary
The Public Works Office Support Coordinator is a key role within the Public Works Department. This position encompasses diverse responsibilities, including streamlining workflows, coordinating cross-departmental processes, and optimizing resource allocation for improved efficiency. The role requires a strong understanding of county policies and ordinances and involves tasks such as procurement processes, asset management, data analysis, and addressing customer inquiries. ?

- Ability to use current and modern technology including Microsoft platforms and AI.
Minor Essential Duties
- Assist with the Department’s snow removal operations
- Ability to take on new tasks or projects as needed to support department goals.

Relationships
- Office Support Coordinator performs duties within the Public Works Department, under the direct supervision of the Business Operations Manager
Requirements
Qualifications
Education and/or Experience
- Graduate of a standard high school, vocational school or the equivalency, supplemented by experience, training or education which provides the desired knowledge, skills and abilities to perform required duties in the Administrative Services Division?
- Experience and knowledge of the functions pertaining to Public Works, and maintain a working knowledge of modern office procedures and equipment?
Language Skills
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret policies, procedures, professional publications, and governmental regulations??
- Ability to write reports and business correspondence?
- Possess strong oral, written, and listening skills???
Mathematical Skills
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers and decimals
Reasoning Skills
- Interprets a variety of technical and instructional information
- Makes decisions which serve the county’s best interest and follows the missions and objectives of the Public Works Department
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
- Possession of a valid Commonwealth of Kentucky driver’s license
Other Knowledge and/or Skills
- Basic computer skills with ability to access programs such as but not limited to Microsoft Office products. Asset Management Software experience is preferred. Capability to provide reports and spreadsheets as needed.?
- Knowledge of modern office practices and procedures?
- Ability to work under limited supervision
