JOB SUMMARY
Manages each assigned program with Gestamp Business Unit from award to one year after start of production. Function as the Champion of each program and be the primary contact person for the customer, engineers, sister plants. Helps with the delivery of each program, on budget, on time, and meets or exceeds customer quality expectations.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Directs the program team to meet all objectives from award to successful launch.
- Delivers each program at the quoted engineering change level, both prototype and production, on budget, on time, at quoted rates, and meet or exceed customer quality expectations.
- Directs the Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) effort in accordance with AIAG published requirements.
- Manages and resolves program open issues in a timely manner utilizing an open issues matrix.
- Reports program status periodically to Gestamp Stakeholders and to customer representatives as required.
- Provide facility with pre-production support.
- Manage all engineering changes and quoting activity of program.
- Keeps Gestamp GPCS systems with up to date information in Team Center
SHORT TERM RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead launch activities on all commodities.
- Lead launch activities on new business platforms.
- Assist plant/s in any design or processing changes required to reach manufacturing profit goals.
- Assist plant/s in implementation of manufacturing industrialization for a successful launch.
- Communicate efforts to account managers and engineers and customers as required.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- A four-year degree in any engineering discipline.
- A minimum of 3 years of automotive industry experience.
- Experience in systems for support of Mercedes Benz
- Formal training in statistical applications to manufacturing processes.
- Personal computer skills with familiarity with word processing and spread sheets.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Knowledge of project management principles.
- Understanding of IATF principles and requirements, and a commitment to meet all standards.
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills, oral and written.
- Ability to represent Gestamp in a positive and productive manner under all conditions involving direct customer interface i.e. meetings, quality reviews, customer complaints, on site launch representation.
- A dedication to teamwork and management by consensus.
- Good leadership skills.
- The ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
