Role Overview
As the Assistant General Manager, you will oversee the fine dining operations of Burnt Pine’s indoor restaurant while assisting in planning and executing special events. Working alongside the Burnt Pine General Manager and the Executive Chef, you’ll support a team dedicated to providing top-tier service and culinary excellence. Your organizational expertise and leadership will ensure seamless day-to-day operations, while your creativity will help elevate member experiences.

Key Responsibilities

  • Leadership & Support: Assist in training and mentoring the Burnt Pine team, fostering a culture of excellence and teamwork. Act as a resource for staff in daily operations.
  • Operations Management: Coordinate with the General Manager and Executive Chef to ensure smooth communication between culinary and front-of-house teams.
  • Accounting & Records: Oversee administrative tasks such as invoice processing, payroll review, and maintaining detailed records of orders, invoices, certifications, and financial reports.
  • Event Execution: Collaborate on the planning and execution of special events, ensuring all details align with the club’s high standards.
  • Member Engagement: Distribute newsletters and promotional materials to enhance member involvement and satisfaction.
  • Hands-On Assistance: Be ready to step in and support the team during peak business hours or special events.

What We’re Looking For

  • Education & Experience:
    • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
    • Minimum 2 years of management experience in a Food & Beverage role at a similar property or country club.
    • A solid understanding of fine dining operations and special event planning.
  • Skills:
    • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
    • Ability to build and maintain collaborative relationships with employees and members.
    • Exceptional organizational and problem-solving abilities.

Physical Requirements

  • Most work tasks are performed indoors, with temperature controlled by environmental systems. However, occasional outdoor tasks may be required, subject to varying weather conditions.
  • Must be able to stand and exert well-paced mobility for up to 5 hours at a time.
  • Ability to maneuver between multiple functions occurring simultaneously.
  • Must be able to lift items weighing up to 25 lbs. as needed.
  • Requires grasping, writing, standing, sitting, walking, repetitive motions, bending, climbing, listening, and hearing ability, as well as visual acuity.
  • Talking and hearing occur continuously while communicating with guests, supervisors, and other employees.
  • Vision occurs continuously, with near vision and depth perception being the most common visual functions.
  • Requires manual dexterity to use and operate all necessary equipment.
