Student Worker – Dance Program

Purpose/Objective of the Role:
The Dance Student Workers actively support multiple tasks and events throughout the Performing Arts Department. Primarily, the dance student worker is expected to have experience in dance performance, Google Suite software, and is able to maintain the cleanliness and organization of OWU’s dance practice and performance areas (primarily the Januzzi Studio) with guidance from Performing Arts faculty and staff.
Tasks & Responsibilities:
- Weekly maintenance of Jannuzi dance studio (cleaning, monitoring inventory of supplies).
- Reporting facility issues (lighting, temperature, A/V cabinet) to the department chair and dance faculty.
- Managing the studio reservations calendar in consultation with the chair and academic assistant for the Performing Arts Department.
Qualifications/Skills:
- Prior experience in dance performance
- Dependability to clean, organize, and maintain the Januzzi Studio
- Experience and willingness to utilize Google Suite features (Docs, Spreadsheets, Forms, Slides)
Other Qualifications:
- Reliability and accuracy with written documents
- Proactive communication skills
- Exhibit punctuality, flexibility, and enthusiasm working with fellow students, faculty, and campus guests
- Willingness to work both independently and as part of a team during flexible hours that may vary week to week
Academic Qualifications:
- Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0
- A reference from at least one OWU professor
- Maintain enrollment in at least one DANC course
