As a member of Evergreen Residential’s Accounting team, the Senior Accountant will play a critical role in the growth and development of key operational functions of the accounting department. This role will be responsible for supporting multiple deliverables in support of the property accounting team. This is an excellent multifaceted opportunity that will give the Senior Accountant exposure to all areas of accounting and leadership throughout the organization. 

This is an office-based position based in Dallas, TX with hybrid schedule.

The Role:   This position includes, but is not limited to, the following responsibilities:

  • Collaborate on design of complex programs to optimize efficiency and effectiveness, with primary focus on implementation and measurement of results
  • Take a hands-on approach in building and developing analytics functions and processes that foster continuous improvement throughout the accounting department
  • Create and document procedures, policies and other content in a clear, concise and professional manner to enhance business efficiency and continuity
  • Partner with our senior leaders and cross-functional teams to accelerate progress through activities including addressing scaling challenges and incubating new programs
  • Conduct thorough analysis and research to provide insights that inform our overall strategy and facilitate informed decision-making for sustainable growth within accounting department.
  • Assist with the continual implementation of operating systems in collaboration with property management, asset management, and investor reporting.
  • Assist the property accounting team as needed.
  • Assist in the annual audit and tax return preparation cycles.
  • Oversee assigned ad hoc projects, as needed.
  • Prepare and maintain various support schedules to assist in success of accounting team.

Qualifications and Experience:   

As a relatively new company undergoing significant growth, we need someone ready, willing, and excited to be part of continuing to build the accounting function.

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance required.
  • 3-4 years of accounting experience
  • Working knowledge of US GAAP
  • Expert in MS Excel, experience with ERP systems
  • Experience in real estate property accounting is preferred
  • Strong numeracy and analytical skills with good problem-solving ability
  • Highly organized and detail oriented
  • Proven track record in successfully managing and delivering projects
  • Able to manage time effectively and complete assigned work within specified deadlines.
  • Experience in writing and documenting procedures.
  • Extremely high interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Adaptability in a highly dynamic working environment
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams, and to progress objectives with minimal supervision
