About the Role

The Policy Advisor plays a critical role in supporting Clean Energy Canada's team by providing data-driven insights and supporting the development of rigorous policy recommendations. With an emphasis on communications and stakeholder engagement, the position supports the advancement of key policy files and contributes to external relations efforts. The incumbent will contribute to impact in the climate space with a strong focus on clean energy policy.

The ideal candidate will be a critical thinker and problem solver. With excellent planning and prioritization skills, they will be able to juggle multiple projects and deadlines. They will be creative and innovative in making informed decisions, achieving results and creating positive change. They will be a strong communicator (both written and oral) and able to build and maintain effective relationships, collaborations and partnerships.

Qualifications

A Bachelor's degree in public policy, economics, environmental sciences, or a related discipline, and at least three years of work experience in policy research, analysis, or advocacy or an equivalent combination of years of experience, training and education.

The incumbent will have a strong understanding of Canadian clean energy policy, climate action strategies, and decarbonization pathways with a particular focus on clean energy. They will have familiarity with legislative processes and policy implementation pathways. They will have working knowledge of relevant data sources, modeling and economic analysis to inform policy choices. They will have excellent research, writing and analytical skills, and the ability to present complex policy issues to a diverse audience, including policymakers, industry leaders and the public.
