Hapag-Lloyd has announced strong growth ambitions in the Inland Business aiming to significantly increase its share of container shipments with an Inland component over the coming decade.
To achieve this goal, we have decided to strengthen the Global Inland Center (GIC) Business-IT setup with a dedicated Cluster Lead to take ownership of the entirety of IT solutions related to running our Inland business and providing industry-leading transport visibility to our customers.

Responsibilities
As Inland Cluster Solution Lead (m/f/d), you will align and set the overarching priorities for the further development of numerous Inland-related IT solutions and take accountability for delivery of the respective business benefits and value. You work in close collaboration with the IT Cluster Manager to define and manage a roadmap on Epic level, ensure technical feasibility and alignment to available resourcing and budget.
Together with your team of Product Owners and in close alignment with the global business and user community, you oversee development, rollout and training of several HL core IT solutions, including
- Customer facing Visibility Products Tracing and Live Position via API, (unified) Web & Mobile Tracing and CNC
- TPMA, the central backend providing unified view on transport plan and status for any container
- Optimus TMS, coordinating with IDT development
- Transport Exception Handling (TREX) applications
You will be integral part of the FIS3 program organization and work with other Cluster Leads and Managers to align roadmaps, manage dependencies and ensure successful delivery of the overall program in time and budget.
As Cluster Lead you are expected to:
- Drive change management in the organization and organize internal communication and information sharing
- Align with the GIC Commercial and Optimus Directors on customer expectations, create the solutions and so enable commercial and operational success
- Serve as single point of contact on operational Inland IT Cluster matters
- Ensure that project milestones are delivered on time and to scope. Close out interim project milestones, derive lessons learned and help adjust concept as needed
Qualifications
- University degree in IT and business studies, logistics or supply chain management
- Excellent understanding of Inland transport, as well as ocean shipping markets coupled with knowledge of Inland transport performance measurement, both for internal operations (visibility, transport dispatch, customer service) and external operations
- Proven track record of success in leading and delivering projects on time, within budget, and to scope
- Experience with project management tools and techniques
- Experience in performance management and implementation tracking
- Excellent communicator and collaborator across functions and within a multinational organization
- Business fluent English language skills
