About the Opportunity
The Director of Summit Content & Strategy will serve as the strategic lead for ISMG’s global summits and conferences. This role is responsible for defining and executing the content strategy that drives audience engagement, sponsor value, and editorial excellence across ISMG’s event portfolio.

The Director will act as the central bridge between editorial, sales, marketing, and audience development teams—ensuring alignment of agendas with market trends, business objectives, and audience needs. This leader will oversee the full lifecycle of conference programming, from research and agenda design to speaker engagement and onsite delivery, while leveraging insights and analytics to continuously refine and evolve ISMG’s event products.

The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker and hands-on leader who can build high-caliber agendas, cultivate executive-level relationships, and enable cross-functional teams to tell a unified story. Success in this role will be measured by the ability to deliver differentiated, editorially credible events that consistently attract senior decision-makers, drive sponsor outcomes, and enhance ISMG’s reputation as an industry thought leader.

What You'll Do
Content Development & Strategy:
  • Research industry trends, audience needs, and sponsor priorities to design event agendas that deliver actionable insights.
  • Leverage editorial expertise to ensure all event content is credible, authentic, and audience-driven.
  • Align content development with ISMG’s editorial vision while accommodating high-profile speakers and sponsor needs.
  • Use audience data and analytics to inform content strategy, optimize event agendas, and improve event impact.
Event Programming:
  • Develop and manage agendas for large scale industry conferences, ensuring content balances sponsor engagement with strong editorial credibility.
  • Coordinate advisory boards, conduct stakeholder interviews, and validate session topics.
  • Manage speaker recruitment and engagement, negotiating agreements and ensuring alignment with event objectives and smooth delivery.
  • Establish and nurture relationships with C-level executives, keynote speakers, and industry leaders to secure high-caliber participation.
  • Oversee onsite content delivery, ensuring sessions run to schedule, meet audience expectations, and deliver value to sponsors.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
  • Orchestrate cross-departmental collaboration between editorial, sales, marketing, and audience teams to optimize event strategies and enhance overall product quality.
  • Partner with Marketing on go-to-market strategy and messaging to maximize event reach and impact.
  • Support sales enablement by providing teams with the story behind event agendas to enhance sponsor conversations.
  • Work with audience development teams to ensure content themes drive attendance and engagement.
Leadership & Innovation:
  • Contribute innovative ideas to evolve ISMG’s event products and content strategies.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to junior producers or support staff, fostering a culture of high performance and continuous improvement.
  • Consistently evaluate and improve processes for greater efficiency and stronger content outcomes.
What You Bring
  • Bachelors or Master’s degree in a relevant field.
  • 7+ years of progressive experience in conference production, content development, or related roles.
  • Demonstrated success in setting and executing content strategy for large-scale B2B conferences, ideally within enterprise technology, cybersecurity, or financial services sectors.
  • Proven ability to balance editorial credibility with commercial outcomes, creating agendas that drive both audience engagement and sponsor value.
  • Skilled in leveraging audience insights and analytics to inform content development, optimize agendas, and measure event impact.
  • Experienced in cultivating and maintaining relationships with C-level executives, thought leaders, and keynote speakers to secure high-caliber participation.
  • Strong track record of driving alignment across editorial, sales, marketing, and audience development teams to deliver unified go-to-market and event strategies.
  • Recognized for refining processes, elevating content, and improving operational efficiency.
  • Leadership experience with the ability to guide, mentor, and develop junior producers or support staff, fostering a high-performance and innovative team culture.
