Job Summary
The Human Resources Generalist is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the HR department within the Construction division. This role encompasses recruitment, onboarding, compliance, employee relations, and policy enforcement, ensuring that HR practices align with organizational goals and legal requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage recruitment processes, including job postings, interviews, and onboarding.
- Maintain employee records and HR databases (both physical and digital).
- Draft and update HR documents such as offer letters and disciplinary notices.
- Support performance management and employee engagement initiatives.
- Conduct investigations when necessary.
- Collaborate with management to develop and implement HR strategies.
- Coordinate training and development programs,
- Participate in diversity initiatives,
- Ensure compliance with labor laws and internal policies.
Qualifications:
- Associate degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 2–5 years of HR experience preferred.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish is required.
- Experience in Construction is strongly preferable.
- Proficiency in HR software and tools, preferably Workday, COINS, Microsoft Excel, and Google Sheets.
- Strong knowledge of labor laws and HR best practices.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality.
- Multitasking with a few ongoing projects and prioritizing tasks.
- Ability to travel up to 25% for recruitment fairs, training, or off-site visits.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Occasional standing, walking, and reaching during training sessions or employee events.
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times (e.g., moving office supplies or files).
- Must have a valid driver's license.
Work Environment:
- Full-time position, Monday through Thursday from 7:30 am to 5:30 pm, and Fridays from 7:30 am to 11:30 am.
- Office setting in a climate-controlled building.
