    About the Role

    Cattaraugus–Little Valley CSD seeks a student-centered Elementary Teacher to join our team. The successful candidate will participate in a paid orientation/transition on October 27, 2025, to shadow the retiring teacher and will begin classroom duties with students on November 5, 2025.

    Position Purpose
    Under the general supervision of the School Principal, to facilitate student success and growth in academic and interpersonal skills through implementing district approved curriculum; documenting teaching and student progress/activities/outcomes; addressing specific educational needs of individual students and by creating a flexible, safe and optimal learning environment; and providing feedback to students, parents and administration regarding student progress, expectations, goals, etc.
     

    Responsibilities

     
    • Deliver engaging, standards-aligned instruction for elementary learners.
    • Use data to differentiate instruction and support all students, including ENL/MLL and students with disabilities.
    • Integrate literacy, math, and SEL practices into daily routines.
    • Collaborate with grade-level and support teams; communicate regularly with families.
    • Implement PBIS/MTSS and uphold district policies and safety procedures.
    Additional Duties
    Performs other related tasks as assigned by the Principal and other central office administrators as designated by the Superintendent.

    Salary:
    Competitive salary and benefits per district terms and conditions. Final placement commensurate with education and experience.
    Starting salary from $47,210-$70, 250--MA & 30 Credit Hours

    Equipment
    Uses standard office equipment such as personal computers, printer, copy and fax machines, and telephone.

    Travel Requirements
    Travels to school district buildings and professional meetings as required.

    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
    • Knowledge of current teaching methods and educational pedagogy, as well as differentiates instruction based upon student learning styles.
    • Knowledge of elementary school curriculum and concepts.
    • Knowledge of data information systems, data analysis and the formulation of action plans.
    • Knowledge of applicable federal and state laws regarding education and students.
    • Ability to use computer network system and software applications as needed.
    • Ability to organize and coordinate work.
    • Ability to communicate effectively with students and parents.
    • Ability to engage in self-evaluation with regard to performance and professional growth.
    • Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with others contacted in the course of work.
    Physical and Mental Demands, Work Hazards
    Works in standard school building environment.

    Required Qualifications

     
    • Valid NYS certification in Childhood Education (Grades 1–6) or Early Childhood/Childhood as appropriate by November 5, 2025.
    • Demonstrated skill in differentiated instruction, formative assessment, and classroom management.
    • Strong collaboration and communication skills.
     

    Preferred Qualifications

     
    • Experience with balanced literacy and evidence-based numeracy practices.
    • Familiarity with MTSS, RTI, and inclusive co-teaching models.
