Position Overview:
The Director Commercial Analytics Business Partner will be responsible for driving data-driven insights that inform business decisions related to customer acquisition, retention, product performance, and overall commercial strategy. This role will encompass both analytics and financial planning, focusing on new customer acquisitions, lost customers, YOY performance, budget variances, product mix, pricing strategies, margin performance, and channel and customer effectiveness.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze data related to new customer acquisitions and lost customers to identify trends, patterns, and areas for improvement.
- Develop actionable insights and recommendations to enhance customer acquisition strategies and improve retention rates.
- Conduct (YOY) performance analysis to assess business growth and operational efficiency while collaborating with FP&A to align financial forecasts with operational goals.
- Participate in Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) meetings as a key contributor, providing insights based on data analytics.
- Monitor and report on performance against budget, identifying variances and providing explanations and recommendations for corrections.
- Analyze product mix performance, identifying high-performing products and areas for optimization, while assessing their impact on overall financial performance.
- Evaluate pricing strategies to ensure competitiveness and profitability, providing recommendations based on market trends and customer behavior.
- Assess margin performance across product lines, channels, and customer segments to identify opportunities for improvement and align with FP&A objectives.
- Collaborate with finance and operations teams to ensure alignment on margin goals and pricing strategies, and financial objectives.
- Analyze channel performance to determine the effectiveness of different distribution strategies and identify opportunities for growth, integrating insights into financial planning.
- Evaluate customer performance metrics to segment customers based on profitability and potential for growth.
- Design and maintain dashboards and reports that provide real-time insights into key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics.
- Ensure data integrity and accuracy across analytics platforms and reporting tools.
- Work closely with sales, marketing, finance, and operations teams to provide insights that inform business strategies and initiatives.
- Communicate analytical findings to stakeholders in a clear and actionable manner, fostering a data-driven culture.
- Identify continuous improvement opportunities to enhance analytics processes, tools, and methodologies to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
- Stay current with industry trends and best practices in analytics to drive innovation within the organization.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Finance, Statistics, or a related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
- 5+ years of experience in commercial analytics, business intelligence, or related roles.
- Strong analytical skills with proficiency in data analysis tools (e.g., SQL, Excel, BI tools such as Tableau or Power BI).
- Experience in customer acquisition and retention analysis, performance metrics, and pricing strategies.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex data insights to non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience in Manufacturing is a plus.
