The purpose of this position is to manage and direct a professional staff of 2 to 6 people (direct employees or indirect contracted resources) who are responsible for cross-functional supplier qualification and sourcing activities for assigned indirect spend categories. Manage contractual commitments with an estimated value up to $300 to 500 million dollars per year. This position is authorized to make or approve award decisions up to an authorized individual procurement before requiring additional management review. The position directs supply chain professionals in their day-to-day activities to ensure business lines requirements for outside services and materials are satisfied to achieve PPL's business line goals and operational and efficiency needs. The position provides leadership, vision and direction to professional staff in areas such as customer service, market analysis, supplier management, cost reduction opportunities, Service Level Agreements, negotiations, and overall supply chain strategies and tools. This position also champions Supply Chain annual goal achievement, individual development initiatives, succession planning, knowledge management and lean project initiatives. It has an overall responsibility to manage business relationships with suppliers and key business contacts.
Responsibilities:- Manage and direct daily sourcing and supply chain activities across PPL's PA, KY and other jurisdictional operations and corporate business service locations. Ensure materials and services are acquired at the lowest total cost of ownership.
- Develop and implement strategies to support business objectives for acquiring goods and services to satisfy customer requirements. Ensure that the materials and services are of the proper quality and obtained in a timely manner to support business line requirements to optimize performance.
- Manage the uniform interpretation and application of Supply Chain policies, procedures and practices to ensure compliance with SOX, FERC and other accounting and regulatory requirements. Provide appropriate direction on such policies and procedures to the employees of the business lines and service organizations involved in supply chain activities.
- Manage and direct employee and contractor performance in the Sourcing Organization. Develop the professional and support staff through appropriate recruitment, coaching, counseling and mentoring.
- Develop effective relationships with business line management to identify process improvements and resolve business concerns in order to improve efficiency, reduce costs, allocate resources and meet Service Level commitments.
- Cultivate and maintain a strong relationship between PPL subsidiaries and the supplier base. Manage supplier relationships to ensure long-term, cost-effective continuity of supply of goods and services to PPL business line organizations. Develop and implement process improvement opportunities with key suppliers.
- Evaluate and implement appropriate Strategic Sourcing strategies in the course of performing the above (e.g., Master Services Agreements, Contractor of Choice programs, Price Volatility Management, consortium buying, etc.). Promote electronic commerce, e-marketplace activities and other technology initiatives to reduce acquisition and process costs.
- Provide direction and support for PPL-wide efforts to support collaboration and process synchronization across all areas of the company including joint sourcing initiatives, adoption of shared technology and system enhancements, Capital project deployment and supporting business area change management processes impacting the sourcing and procurement workflows.

Required Qualifications
Education
Bachelor's degree in supply chain, business, or related fields.
Experience
10 or more years of materials and services buying experience.
Licensure / Other Qualifications
Valid driver’s license required.
Preferred Qualifications:
Master of Business Administration.
Previous supervisory, project management or leadership experience as part pf cross-functional teams or process integrations.
Energy related or electric utility operations sourcing experience.
Certified Purchasing Manager (CPM) or Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM).
Lean and/or Six Sigma certification.
Understanding of and experience in the analysis of materials & services markets and in the negotiation of commercial terms and conditions.
Strong verbal and written communications skills.
Strong leadership skills.
Strong interpersonal skills for interacting with individuals at all levels of the organization.
