As the Senior Accountant, Tax, this role is responsible for supporting AMP’s tax team in meeting tax compliance obligations, with a focus on income tax accounting for AMP Superannuation and AMP investment entities.
The role contributes to the preparation and review of tax returns and disclosures, assists business units with technical tax matters and drives continuous improvement initiatives to ensure optimal tax outcomes for AMP.
It also involves maintaining collaborative working relationships with key stakeholders, including custodians and investment operations, to support accurate and efficient tax reporting.
How will you make an impact
- Assist with tax compliance procedures for AMP Superannuation and Investment entities, including:
- Preparation of accurate month-end and annual tax compliance reporting
- Effective tax rate calculations
- Support with distribution reviews
- Contribution to other tax team projects as required
- Develop, maintain and enhance tax procedures and processes
- Drive improvements in tax accounting processes and tools
- Build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders (e.g. Tax, Investment Operations, Portfolio Managers, Custodian)
- Provide guidance and support to other members of the Tax team when needed
What you will bring to the role
- Degree Qualified - Major in Accounting
- Ideally at least 3 - 5 years’ experience in a tax accounting with a focus on operational taxes, withholding tax and tax reporting
- Highly process driven, ability to communicate effectively and a team-player mindset and ability to manage large volume with solid analytical skills
- Intermediate Excel capability

The ideal candidate will be self-directed, capable of working autonomously and bring a logical yet lateral approach to problem-solving.
Excellent interpersonal skills are essential, along with the ability to manage stakeholders and build relationships across all levels of the organisation. A keen eye for detail and an enquiring mindset are key to navigating and improving complex income tax processes with precision and insight.
