What We Are Looking For
We are currently seeking a Medical Assistant to join our well-established, multiple provider, Family Medicine office
Responsibilities
As a Medical Assistant, you will perform such duties as:
- Prepare examination rooms for patient visits, ensuring cleanliness and availability of necessary supplies and equipment.
- Obtain and document patient vital signs, including temperature, heart rate, blood pressure, height, and weight.
- Accurately document patient medical history, current medications, and chief complaints.
- Assist physicians and other healthcare providers with patient examinations and procedures.
- Administer injections and medications as directed by physician or other provider.
- Perform basic laboratory tests, such as urine dipstick and blood glucose.
- Process and prepare specimens for laboratory pick-up.
- Provide patient education and instructions as directed by the physician.
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and infection control policies.
- Sterilize medical instruments and equipment according to established protocols.
- Return patient phone calls with physician instructions and document the communication in the EHR.
- Process prescription refills as directed by the physician.
- Perform other clinical duties as assigned within the scope of training and certification.

The Medical Back Office/Medical Assistant supports the organization with exceptional customer service and treats all patients with respect and dignity. They ensure the office and front reception area runs smoothly and patient flow and satisfaction are at optimum.
Essential Education, Experience and Skills
Education: Minimum of high school diploma or equivalent; AND
- Completed an APPROVED (accredited) Medical Assistant training program.
OR
- Completed an UNAPPROVED (non-accredited) Medical Assistant training program AND a National Certification through one of the following:
- American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) - administers the Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) exam and certification; or
- American Medical Technologists (AMT) -- provides the Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) exam and certification to individuals who have completed the AMT criteria; or
- National Healthcareer Association (NHA)-administers the Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) exam and certification
