Who We Serve: EMT serves organizations in the St. Louis, Missouri metro and surrounding areas, including neighboring areas in Illinois, as well as Cumberland, Maryland. These organizations include school districts, hospitals, doctor's offices, and more. We also transport individuals and families to and from appointments or simply when they need a ride. This position requires professionalism, warmth, and a commitment to excellent service—values that define EMT's missions, visions, and values.


We are seeking a dedicated Routing Supervisor that will oversee the daily planning, scheduling, and routing of NEMT trips to ensure safe, timely, and cost-effective transportation services. This role is responsible for supervising the routing team, monitoring route efficiency, and coordinating with dispatchers, drivers, and operations staff to maintain high service quality and compliance with company and regulatory standards. 

  

Essential Functions:


 Route Planning & Optimization

  • Develop and oversee daily schedules and routes to ensure efficient vehicle utilization and on-time performance.
  • Adjust and reassign routes in real time to handle delays, cancellations, or urgent trip requests.
  • Use routing software and GPS systems to optimize trip assignments and minimize mileage and fuel costs.

Supervision & Leadership

  • Supervise routing/dispatch staff, providing training, guidance, and performance feedback.
  • Monitor adherence to company policies, safety standards, and customer service protocols.
  • Coordinate with dispatchers and drivers to resolve service issues.

Operational Oversight

  • Ensure compliance with NEMT contractual requirements, Medicaid/Medicare guidelines, and company standards.
  • Track and report on key metrics such as on-time performance, trip completion rates, and route efficiency.
  • Maintain accurate trip records and documentation.

Problem Solving & Incident Management

  • Respond promptly to service disruptions, vehicle breakdowns, or client concerns.
  • Coordinate rerouting to reduce passenger wait times and service failures.
  • Work with fleet and operations teams to address recurring routing or vehicle issues.

Communication & Coordination

  • Serve as the primary point of contact between dispatchers, drivers, and operations management.
  • Communicate route changes, delays, and updates clearly and efficiently.
  • Collaborate with customer service to resolve rider issues.

Technology & Reporting

  • Utilize routing/dispatch software (e.g., Trapeze, Route match, or similar platforms).
  • Generate daily, weekly, and monthly reports on routing performance.
  • Analyze data to recommend improvements in service delivery.

Continuous Improvement

  • Identify areas for cost savings and operational efficiency.
  • Recommend policy or process changes to improve service reliability.
  • Support training initiatives for dispatch and routing staff

Requirements
