ABOUT THE ROLE 

Help us reimagine how connection comes to life on the warehouse floor. 

We’re not looking for someone to just push messages, we’re looking for a creative force. A builder of experiences. A strategic storyteller who wants to transform the way communication shows up for our warehouse teams. 

At S&S, we’re on a mission to do things differently. We want to meet our employees where they are, around the warehouse, in breakrooms, and during quick stand-ups, not just in inboxes or intranets. From seasonal themes that spark energy (think: “Back to School” style walls or wellness pop-ups) to peer-driven storytelling that brings pride to every role, you’ll have the freedom to bring fresh thinking to every corner of our internal communication strategy. 

You’ll join a small-but-mighty internal comms team dedicated to making every message matter, and work alongside HR and Ops partners who are ready to dream bigger about how we engage our most essential teams. This is your chance to bring best-in-class communication tactics from other industries and adapt them to a world that’s hungry for creativity, connection, and clarity.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Architect frontline communications: Build smart, inclusive communication strategies that meet warehouse employees where they are, whether that’s in break rooms, through managers, or via mobile tools. 
  • Champion culture through storytelling: Craft narratives that celebrate team wins, highlight employee voices, and bring our values to life in everyday language. 
  • Think beyond the screen: Experiment with fresh, high-impact formats, from peer-led campaigns to visual signage to face-to-face moments, and track what works. 
  • Bridge people and priorities: Partner across HR, Ops, and leadership to align messaging with business goals and employee needs, ensuring consistency, clarity, and care. 
  • Be a trusted guide: Coach leaders and partners on tone, timing, and delivery to help messages land with empathy and purpose. 
  • Own the plan: Lead editorial planning across platforms with discipline and creativity, balancing long-term goals with the need for speed. 
  • Listen and adapt: Use engagement data, feedback, and frontline input to continuously improve communication approaches. 
  • Creative Design: Utilize Canva to create designs (flyers, digital signs, and videos).  
  • Write with intention: Deliver communications that are timely, human, and useful—from announcements and talking points to print collateral and intranet content.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

  • 4+ years in internal communications, employee engagement, or related roles 
  • A deep respect for frontline employees and a passion for connecting with dispersed teams 
  • Outstanding writing and storytelling skills, clear, relatable, and tailored to your audience 
  • Experience building communication strategies across multiple formats and channels 
  • A creative, agile mindset, you’re not afraid to try something new or roll up your sleeves 
  • Strong project management skills and ability to juggle priorities in a fast-moving environment 
  • Emotional intelligence and sound judgment, you know when to push, to ask questions, when to pause, and when to listen 
  • Canva experience (design and video) is a strong advantage for this role
