The Office of Economic Development Department is actively seeking an Assistant Project Manager.

This position reports to the Finance and Compliance Manager and provides operations support for the Office of Economic Development, assists with the implementation and compliance of economic development projects and programs, and promoting Office of Economic Development initiatives. The work is performed in an office setting and the physical demands are minimal.Position Duties
- Receives, composes and/or reviews correspondence, presentations, reports, policies and procedures and other materials on general or technical subjects; edit and proofread for accuracy and completeness.
- Maintains various databases and filing systems for OED Projects and Programs.
- Assists in the organization of Finance and Compliance systems, including file maintenance, data entry and helping to ensure proper documentation is on file.
- Maintains existing and develops new business development collateral, graphics, research, and Web site content.
- Facilitates outreach efforts to generate articles and press releases and placement of ads and editorial material to promote business development in Jacksonville.
- Creates newsletters and coordinates special events specific to economic development.
- Ensures proper notice is provided for the public to attend applicable meetings.
- Assists Finance and Compliance personnel during time critical projects and as needed.
- Provides administrative staff support to assigned OED committees and boards.
- Demonstrates proficiency in the City of Jacksonville's competencies.
- Performs other related work as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- Knowledge of administrative procedures and practices.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
- Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
Other Qualifications
Three years of education and/or professional experience in business administration, finance, public administration, or a related field.
Licensing/Certification/Registration:
A valid driver's license is required prior to appointment & must be maintained during employment in this class.
Must qualify for prior to appointment, obtain and maintain during employment in this class a City of Jacksonville Public Driver Certification.
