Albright Pharmacy is a long-term care (LTC) pharmacy located on the Asbury Methodist Village campus in Gaithersburg, MD. The Staff Pharmacist is part of the team that allows Asbury residents enjoy the convenient prescription pharmaceuticals and over-the-counter medications right on the campus where they reside. In 2019, Albright Care Services affiliated with Asbury Communities, bringing more than 100 years of service to seniors to the Asbury Communities organization. We are seeking a dedicated and professional Staff Pharmacist to join our healthcare team in Gaithersburg, Maryland. As a Staff Pharmacist, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safe and effective dispensing of medications while providing exceptional patient care and support.
- Accurately dispense prescribed medications and provide detailed instructions for proper use
- Conduct thorough drug utilization reviews to prevent adverse drug interactions and ensure patient safety
- Offer professional counseling and education to patients regarding their medications, potential side effects, and overall health management
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to optimize patient treatment plans and resolve medication-related issues
- Manage pharmacy inventory, including ordering, stocking, and monitoring drug supplies
- Ensure compliance with all federal and state pharmacy laws, regulations, and company policies
- Supervise pharmacy technicians and support staff in daily operations
- Participate in quality assurance programs and continuous improvement initiatives
- Administer vaccinations and conduct health screenings as needed
- Stay updated on the latest pharmaceutical advancements and industry best practices
Qualifications
Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) from an accredited institution
Active Maryland pharmacist license
At least 1 year of pharmacist experience
Proficiency with pharmacy software, dispensing systems, and inventory management
Strong knowledge of pharmacology, drug interactions, and medication safety
Skilled in patient counseling, communication, and teamwork
Detail-oriented with commitment to accuracy, compliance, and quality care
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities
Dedication to ongoing professional development
