Hours: 6:00am - 2:30pm (end time varies due to production)

SUMMARY
The Sides Operator is responsible for the operations of mixing and packaging of Mrs. Gerry’s sides products. During times when these lines are not in operation, team members perform various other duties as needed.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Know and follow HACCP and SQF programs.
- Know and follow all Food Safety procedures.
- Follow all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Wear all required personal protective equipment. For more information see policy.
- Learn all aspects of processing including set up and operation of all equipment and processes.
- Learn all aspects of clean room including set up, operation, CIP’s, tear down and procedures.
- Learn to operate and monitor spiral chiller.
- Learn all aspects of packaging including equipment operation and procedures.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand and walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, talk or hear and push or pull. The employee frequently is required to sit. The employee will have limited lifting, must be able to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds for transport of training materials and setting up learning events. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
Required to wear PPE when in production areas to ensure safe food and adhering to safety practices.

When providing learning or walking through the plant to perform the duties of this job, the employee will be exposed to wet or humid conditions (non-weather); work near moving mechanical parts. The employee will be exposed to fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals; outdoor weather conditions when traveling between entrances; extreme cold (non-weather); extreme heat (non-weather). The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Wearing personal protective equipment (PPE) is required.
