Position: Senior Accountant
Schedule: Schedule: Mon–Fri, 9am–6pm (40 hours+ per week with 1 work from home day that alternates between Wednesday and Friday every month)
Pay rate: $80,000 - $95,000
Short Summary: The Sr Accountant will report to the GL Accounting Manager and is responsible for general accounting functions, GAAP compliance and related documentation, and month-end close activities for financial reporting purposes
Job Duties:
Senior Accountant Duties and Responsibilities:
- Reconciliation of bank and balance sheet accounts.
- Assist in the month-end close process.
- Assist with month end variance analysis.
- Participates in activities related to interim and year-end external audits (including 401k and Workers’ Comp).
- Updates cash forecast daily and prepare internal bank transfers.
- Calculates commissions and processes internal payroll.
- Prepares CAT and various state withholding filings for 1099 contractors.
- Assists in resolving payroll tax, HSA, and 401k withholding issues.
- Assists with resolution of credit card disputes.
- Responds to data requests from internal departments
Senior Accountant Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting with a minimum of 5 years work experience in General Accounting, Financial Reporting, and/or Audit roles (prior audit or public accounting experience is highly preferred).
- Must be experienced with full cycle accounting.
- Strong knowledge of current GAAP.
- Experience with service/T&E industries.
- Experience extracting data using BI tools for purposes of analysis and report creation.
- Tech savvy with excellent Excel skills (xlookup, pivot tables, etc.).
- Must be detail-oriented and comfortable adjusting to changing priorities.
- Must be self-motivated, and possess strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Experience with SalesForce and NetSuite strongly preferred.
