Position Overview
The Middle School Math Supervisor provides leadership in the development, implementation, and coordination of College Achieve’s curricular and instructional programs. This role ensures alignment with state standards, supports instructional excellence across grade levels, and collaborates with special education programs to drive student achievement. The Supervisor plays a central role in professional development, school improvement, and evaluation processes, while maintaining a direct instructional connection by teaching two to three classes.
Key Responsibilities
Curriculum & Instructional Leadership
Lead the design, implementation, and evaluation of school curricula aligned with NJ standards.
Oversee timely revisions of curriculum documents and instructional materials.
Develop and maintain systems for monitoring student progress, including diagnostic screenings and other data-driven measures.
Provide leadership in instructional methods and best practices across K–12 subject areas.
Teaching & Direct Instruction
Teacher Support, Observation & Evaluation
Conduct classroom observations and evaluate teaching staff in accordance with AchieveNJ regulations.
Collaborate with principals and administrators to refine teacher evaluation processes.
Create and share grade-level resources to support instructional delivery.
Schedule and organize grade-level meetings to ensure vertical and horizontal alignment.
Professional Development & School Improvement
Design, plan, and administer professional development programs for instructional staff.
Recommend teacher attendance at external conferences and workshops.
Play a key role in developing and implementing schoolwide improvement plans.
Collaboration & Communication
Work with the Executive Director, principals, and subject matter specialists to strengthen schoolwide instructional programs.
Present and interpret the educational program to the board of education, parents, and the community.
Administrative & Operational Duties
Assist with recruitment, hiring, training, and assignment of instructional personnel.
Provide input in budget development related to staffing, programming, and curriculum.
Review and evaluate results of schoolwide testing and other assessment tools.
Perform additional responsibilities as assigned by the Principal or designee.
Qualifications
Valid New Jersey Supervisor, School Administrator, Principal Certificate, or Content Area Certification.
Knowledge of NJ curriculum standards and best practices in instruction.
Demonstrated leadership in school improvement, curriculum integration, and program evaluation.
Ability to plan, organize, and lead school or network-wide professional development.
Strong interpersonal, leadership, and communication skills.
Valid New Jersey driver’s license.
Required criminal history background check and proof of U.S. citizenship or legal resident status.
Compensation & Benefits
Annual salary range: $90,000–$130,000, commensurate with experience
10-month position with leadership responsibilities and teaching component
