The ideal candidate is someone who will guide students in developing critical thinking and problem-solving skills within project-based STEM learning environments. Technology, Engineering, & Design (TED) teachers at Hunterdon Central thrive in collaborative settings, encourage hands-on exploration, and embrace emerging technologies.
Certifications: - NJ Teacher of Technology Education Certification required (1810)
- NJ Teacher of Engineering Technology preferred (2545)
Key Responsiblities: - Teach courses in Technology, Engineering, and Design with a focus on creativity, inquiry, and project-based learning.
- Foster a classroom environment where students design, test, and refine prototypes, models, and finished products using a variety of tools, materials, and technologies.
- Integrate design/engineering software and/or fabrication into student projects.
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop units that connect TED curricula to real-world authentic learning experiences.
- Encourage students to think like engineers and entrepreneurs by solving authentic, real-world challenges.
Qualifications:
The successful candidate will:- Have a strong understanding of design processes and the use of varied tools and materials.
- Proficiency in or willingness to learn design/engineering software, robotics programming, and fabrication tools, techniques, and technologies.
- Have the ability to cultivate a student-centered classroom culture where risk-taking and experimentation are encouraged.
- Be committed to continuous professional growth and collaboration with a team of dedicated educators.
- Inspire students to pursue careers in engineering, architecture, product design, robotics, and other STEM-related fields.
Compensation:
$61,695 - $107,175
