Job Description

Research Assistant Project Lead (temporary/part-time) - BY INVITATION ONLY!!!

The CTL Project Researcher will continue designing, developing, and submitting original scholarly articles as part of ongoing CTL initiatives centered on pedagogical innovation and academic publication. This part-time position supports the scholarship of teaching and learning by contributing publishable research that aligns with institutional priorities.

What you will be doing in this position

Article Development and Writing

  • Research educational frameworks, disciplinary trends, and CTL-aligned themes
  • Draft four academic articles tailored for journal submission
  • Revise each manuscript through multiple feedback cycles
  • Ensure alignment with publication standards and citation norms

Journal Identification and Submission Strategy

  • Consult with CTL leadership to identify appropriate journals
  • Analyze scope, submission guidelines, and target audiences
  • Prepare and finalize each article for submission

Collaboration and Review Cycles

  • Meet with CTL mentors and stakeholders to review drafts
  • Incorporate editorial and peer feedback
  • Maintain records of revisions and rationale

What qualifies you for this role:

Education/Experience

  • Master’s degree required; doctoral degree preferred in education, instructional design, or a related academic field
  • Demonstrated experience in academic writing and peer-reviewed publication
  • Strong quantitative and qualitative inquiry skills applied to scholarship of teaching and learning
  • Knowledge of SoTL practices, pedagogical theory, and disciplinary integration
  • Strong written communication, time management, and self-directed planning skills
  • Familiarity with institutional teaching and learning values preferred

Pay Grade: 48

Typical Starting Pay: $20.00-$25.75
