O Bee Credit Union is hiring a Programmer to join our amazing team in IT. This is a full-time role that plays a vital part in supporting our mission, our Members, and our one-of-a-kind company culture.
What You’ll Do
As our Programmer and member of the IT team, you will support the technology needs of the credit union staff and members.
Responsibilities
Programming:
- Provide support in programming and coding in Power On (Symitar) and other languages as required.
- Responsible for designing RepGens in support of the overall business functionality to include implementation and testing.
- Provides programming support to new and existing software enhancements.
- Design, develop, and modify PowerOn programs for the Symitar Episys core processing system.
- Assists customers in developing their requirements and translating their needs into actionable plans.
- Write and maintain efficient, reusable, and reliable code to ensure the best possible performance, quality, and responsiveness of applications.
- Documents work and ensures it meets style guides of organization and follows code hygiene best practices.
- Architect solutions that are extensible, resilient, and reliable under a variety of conditions.
Support and Technology:
- Under minimal supervision, supports non-routine and complex problem identification and resolution in a broad number of areas for the credit union.
- Research questions using available information and resources to advise users on testing, troubleshooting and operation of programming products.
- Runs diagnostic tests and recommends actions to correct problems.
- Performs quality assurance functions on current and in-development custom programming solutions by monitoring servers, systems, and scheduled events to capture, record and remediate errors and issues.
- Assists the IT department when major disasters or major infrastructure changes occur.
- Assists with the development, execution, and maintenance of the disaster recovery and business continuity plan.
- Provides programming assistance as needed to system-related daily, monthly, quarterly and year-end processing.
- Contributes to knowledge base of IT department by writing documentation of processes.
Other duties as assigned.
What Desired Qualifications You’ll Bring
- BS Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or similar, or corresponding knowledge through work experience.
- Five to ten years’ experience in PowerOn programming within the Symitar Episys environment preferred
- Five to ten years’ experience with software development lifecycle (SDLC) methodologies preferred.
- Familiarity with financial services and banking industry practices, particularly concerning core banking systems.
- Programming experience in a variety of languages is a plus.
- Provide portfolio of relevant work experience.
- Must be able to pass a background and credit check.
- Must be authorized to work in the USA.

The Details
- Location: Administration Building, Lacey, WA
- Pay range: $77,968.80-$114,635.32 and is dependent on experience.
