Description
The payroll/benefits coordinator is responsible for all activities related to the accurate and timely processing of payroll and benefits. These activities include, but are not limited to, processing the biweekly payrolls, maintaining employee records, and reconciling payroll benefits.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Process multi-state payroll for multiple companies on a biweekly basis
- Process off-cycle and post only checks, as needed
- Adhere to federal, state, and local laws
- Keep current with federal, state, and local laws
- Maintain employee data and records
- Ensure compliance with wage garnishments
- Reconcile retirement, FSA, and HSA contributions each payroll
- Reconciling benefit statements and resolving discrepancies with benefits coordinator and payroll
- Processing benefit enrollments, changes, and terminations, including managing leaves of absence (FMLA, short/long-term disability) regarding HRIS deductions and earnings
- Maintain compensation data management tool
- Maintain and reconcile paid leave records
- Complete employee verification requests
- Compile monthly and quarterly department of labor statistic reports
- Provide essential tax back-up as needed, including but not limited to knowledge, application, and research
- Preparing payroll reports for management review, audits, and other purposes
- Answer payroll and benefit deduction related questions in a timely and professional manner
- Maintain a high level of confidentiality
- Collaborate with HR and Benefits on special projects as needed
- Provide back-up for essential functions of manager
- Performs all other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications:
- Three to five years of related payroll experience
- Knowledge of payroll concepts (garnishments, tax laws, final pay rules, etc..)
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
- Outstanding verbal and written communication skills
- Strong analytic and problem-solving skills
- Comfortable in a growing organization with shifting organizational needs
- Can work independently
- Can maintain confidentiality
- Self-Starter

- Beginning Accounting
- Intermediate Excel - Required
