Job Title: Warehouse Supervisor 2nd Shift
Department: Operations
Reports to: Operations Manager
Position Overview
The Warehouse Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily second shift warehouse operations, ensuring efficiency, safety, and compliance with company standards. This role involves managing a team of warehouse associates, coordinating inbound and outbound shipments, inventory management, and maintaining high levels of accuracy and productivity in a cold storage environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Team Supervision: Lead and manage warehouse staff, including training, scheduling, performance evaluations, and enforcing company policies.
- Daily Operations: Oversee all inbound and outbound shipments, ensuring timely and accurate order fulfillment, proper handling of goods, and compliance with safety standards.
- Inventory Management: Monitor inventory levels, conduct regular cycle counts, and ensure accurate inventory records. Investigate and resolve discrepancies as needed.
- Safety & Compliance: Ensure all employees follow safety protocols, including the proper use of equipment and personal protective gear, to maintain a safe working environment.
- Process Improvement: Identify inefficiencies in warehouse operations and implement process improvements to optimize productivity and accuracy.
- Collaboration: Work closely with the Warehouse Manager, Inventory Leads, and other departments to coordinate activities and resolve operational challenges.
- Documentation & Reporting: Maintain accurate records of inventory, shipping, and receiving activities. Provide reports on operational performance, staffing, and inventory levels.
- Equipment Management: Ensure all warehouse equipment, including forklifts and reach trucks, is well-maintained and operating correctly. Report any maintenance needs or equipment issues.
- Cold Storage Compliance: Ensure that products are stored and handled according to cold storage requirements, maintaining appropriate temperatures and product integrity.
Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent; a degree in logistics or supply chain management is a plus.
- Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in warehouse operations, with at least 1-2 years in a supervisory role. Experience in cold storage or a similar environment is preferred.
- Skills:
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment.
- Knowledge of warehouse operations, safety protocols, and inventory management.
- Proficiency in warehouse management systems (WMS) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Forklift certification is a plus.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to work in cold storage environments with temperatures as low as -20°F.
- Must be able to lift, carry, and move items weighing up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to stand, walk, and bend for extended periods.
