The Role:

Andersen is seeking a motivated professional to join our firm as an Associate, System Administrator. These roles are pivotal in supporting Andersen's evolving and increasingly complex technology infrastructure. As part of our technology team, you will be directly responsible for maintaining stable, secure, and scalable systems that enable our global operations. You will play a key role in system modernization, cloud migration, and enterprise platform integration, ensuring consistent uptime and reliable technology services for the Firm.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and support Andersen's firmwide systems, including core infrastructure, authentication tools, email, and enterprise applications.
  • Perform daily system patching, server maintenance, configuration changes, and access management.
  • Monitor logs, alerts, and system performance to ensure stability and identify potential issues.
  • Collaborate with cybersecurity, networking, and application teams to maintain secure, seamless operations.
  • Support incident response and system recovery activities.
  • Contribute to infrastructure modernization and cloud migration efforts.
  • Create and maintain documentation for processes, system configurations, and troubleshooting guidelines.
  • Provide operational coverage across time zones and coordinate with global teams to ensure 24/7 system availability.
  • Assist with automation scripting to improve efficiency and reduce manual workloads.
  • This position may require overtime, including evenings and weekends, as needed. Overtime work will be compensated in accordance with applicable labor laws.

 

The Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in an IT-related discipline or equivalent experience.
  • 1-3+ years of relevant IT or system administration experience.
  • Industry certifications such as A+, Security+, CCNA, or MCP preferred.
  • Experience in backup, recovery, and disaster recovery methodologies.
  • Ability to support multiple mission-critical environments and balance competing priorities.

Preferred Skills

  • Strong understanding of Microsoft Server technologies, including Exchange, SQL, SCCM, SharePoint, and Active Directory infrastructure.
  • Experience with virtualization technologies such as VMware ESXi.
  • Knowledge of cloud platforms, particularly Microsoft 365 and Azure.
  • Familiarity with SAN technologies and networking components (DHCP, DNS, TCP/IP).
  • Proficiency in automation and scripting for system administration tasks.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Solid communication and collaboration skills with multiple teams across many practices.
  • Required to work in the office 3 days per week.
  • Participation in an on-call rotation and occasional after-hours support may be required to resolve critical system issues, perform maintenance, or support business continuity needs.

 

 

Compensation and Benefits

Our firm offers competitive base compensation, benefits package, and a discretionary employee bonus program for eligible employees based on individual and firm performance metrics per the defined program guidelines. For individuals hired to work in Buffalo, New York, the expected hourly rate/salary for this role is $70,500. - $85,000.($33.90 hourly - $40.87 hourly); the actual hourly rate/salary offer can vary based upon employee qualifications.

We offer paid time off, beginning at 160 hours annually and provides twelve paid holidays throughout the calendar year. Compensation: In addition to competitive base compensation, our firm offers annual discretionary bonuses based on firm and individual performance and other forms of discretionary compensation that would be offered to the hired applicant in addition to their established salary range scale.
