Job Description:Candidate will possess comprehensive knowledge of electrical standards, safety protocols, and quality assurance procedures relevant to voltage systems ranging from low-voltage DC systems to ultra-high-voltage (UHV) equipment.
This role involves inspecting, verifying, and certifying the compliance of electrical goods, including batteries, transformers, switchgear, cable terminations, surge arresters, and related components listed below:
- Battery systems (VDC, VRLA, Gel Type, Lead Acid, NiCd)
- High and medium voltage equipment (13.8kV to 380kV)
- Cable terminations and accessories
- Transformers and reactors
- Surge arresters and lightning protection
- Busbar systems and electrical connections
- Control and switchgear assemblies
- Insulators, joints, and sealing ends
- Voltage transformers (CVT, CT, Ring Core CT)
Responsibilities:
- Conduct detailed inspections of electrical equipment in compliance with SEC and national electrical safety standards.
- Review and verify the installation, operation, and labeling of high-voltage and low-voltage electrical systems.
- Ensure that all electrical components, including batteries, cable terminations, and transformers, meet quality and safety specifications.
- Prepare inspection reports detailing findings, non-conformities, and recommendations for corrective actions.
- Provide expert advice on electrical system compliance and safety enhancements.
- Liaise with project managers, contractors, and client representatives during all phases of inspection.
- Maintain detailed documentation of inspections, certifications, and compliance reports.
- Keep abreast of latest electrical codes, standards, and best practices.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Valid SEC Electrical Inspector Certification.
- Proven experience inspecting electrical equipment up to 380kV, including high-voltage switchgear, transformers, and cable systems.
- In-depth knowledge of electrical standards, safety protocols, and inspection techniques.
- Familiarity with a wide range of electrical components including batteries, surge arresters, insulators, and conductors.
- Strong analytical and report writing skills.
- Excellent communication and coordination abilities.
- Ability to work independently and remotely, with adherence to safety and quality standards.
