Your future role
"Take on a new challenge and apply your regulatory compliance and railway safety expertise in a new cutting-edge field. You’ll work alongside collaborative and detail-oriented teammates.
You'll ensure Alstom's operations across North America meet the highest regulatory standards and drive safety excellence in railway transportation. Day-to-day, you’ll work closely with teams across the business (project teams, communications, and management), provide expert guidance on regulatory requirements, and develop strategies to maintain compliance while fostering innovation—and much more."
We’ll look to you for:

Collaborating with Alstom projects to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements across North America, particularly in Railway Safety. ,

Monitoring and analyzing regulatory trends and predicted changes that impact Alstom's operations in North America, and advising the management team accordingly. ,

Auditing and reviewing Alstom's compliance policies, procedures, and guidelines, and providing recommendations for improvement. ,

Working with other Alstom teams to develop and implement strategies to maintain the highest standards while adhering to US and Canada regulations and best practices. ,

Providing expert guidance to Alstom project teams regarding US Federal and State agency regulations on all aspects of rail transportation, including operations, safety, and environmental compliance. ,

Supporting projects and tenders by providing regulatory guidance, railway safety audits, and reviewing project deliverables such as design specifications and project plans. ,

Collaborating with the Alstom communications team to prepare responses to regulatory inquiries and audits. ,

Providing training to Alstom staff on North American railway regulations and standards. ,
-
Utilizing strong analytical and problem-solving skills to address compliance challenges effectively. ,

Traveling up to 50% as needed to support compliance and safety initiatives."

Degree in transportation, engineering, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred; equivalent experience may substitute for degree). ,

Experience or understanding of North American railway regulation, including agencies such as the Federal Railroad Administration, Federal Transit Administration, and Transport Canada. ,

Knowledge of rail transportation operations, rail vehicle (FRA) regulatory requirements, technology, and industry standards. ,

Familiarity with federal and state regulatory environments and best practices in railway safety and compliance. ,

Excellent communication and negotiation skills. ,

Training skills to provide guidance and education to internal teams. ,

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. ,

Ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders. ,

Resilience and adaptability to manage travel requirements (up to 50%). ,
