About ALSO.
We’re ALSO, an electric mobility company originally conceived as a part of Rivian. We’re a passionate team of builders, dreamers, doers and innovators, focused on creating entirely new (not to mention, innovative and delightful) vertically integrated, small EVs designed to meet the global mobility challenges of today and tomorrow. Our mission is to inspire everyone to ride ALSO—replacing many local car, truck and SUV miles with ones on vehicles that are more affordable, more enjoyable and 10-50x more efficient.
ALSO is seeking a Staff Global Supply Manager to drive sourcing execution and operational readiness for our Electronics and Propulsion category. This US-based role will serve as the key interface between engineering, finance, design, and Asia-based Global Supply Managers (GSMs), ensuring a tight feedback loop and flawless program execution. Leveraging your background in supply chain and GSM-level experience, you will align cross-functional teams on cost, schedule, and supplier deliverables, enabling rapid and informed decision-making.
What You Will Do
Own operational delivery for the Electronics/Propulsion category, ensuring cost targets, schedules, and quality requirements are met.
Coordinate with Asia GSMs to execute sourcing strategies, RFIs, DFMs, and RFQs in alignment with program objectives.
Track supplier readiness, escalate risks, and facilitate timely resolution with US and Asia stakeholders.
Consolidate sourcing status, cost positions, and schedule impacts for leadership reporting.
Partner closely with US-based engineering, design, and finance teams to translate technical and cost requirements into actionable sourcing directives.
Facilitate rapid decision-making through clear communication of trade-offs, risks, and mitigation strategies.
Align with Technical Program Managers, Engineering Program Managers, and other operations leads to ensure integrated program execution.
Support GSMs in key supplier negotiations and contract reviews, applying your own GSM experience to secure favorable terms and pricing.
Participate in supplier and manufacturing site reviews to address critical technical or commercial topics.
Maintain awareness of preferred vendors and ensure capabilities match program needs.
Travel domestically and internationally 25–30% of the time to supplier sites, manufacturing locations, and Asia-based operations offices.
What You Will Bring
5+ years of supply chain, operations, or sourcing experience, including 3+ years as a Global Supply Manager or equivalent.
Proven expertise in supplier negotiations, cost management, and contract execution.
Strong background in RFQ, RFI, and DFM processes, with experience presenting to senior leadership.
Excellent organizational skills and ability to coordinate across multiple time zones.
Effective communicator with a track record of building strong relationships across engineering, operations, and supplier teams.
Experience in aerospace, automotive, consumer electronics, or other high-tech manufacturing.
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Supply Chain, Industrial Engineering, International Business, or related field.
Familiarity with NPI (New Product Introduction) supply chain and manufacturing readiness processes.
Preferred
Background in propulsion systems, PCBAs, electromechanical assemblies, electronics components, or related categories.
Professional certifications (e.g., PMP, Lean Six Sigma)
The salary for this position ranges from $130,000 - $170,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
