JOB SUMMARY:
Responsible for safely operating assigned machines throughout the plant while ensuring quality and efficiency in production.
Shift: Second shift (Monday – Thursday) Second shift with 10% Shift diff.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Operate machines safely and follow all procedures.
- Demonstrate a strong commitment to workplace safety.
- Prioritize job flow based on input from production planning and supervision.
- Follow and process work instructions accurately.
- Measure and record process data using micrometers, verniers, calipers, rulers, scales, and computers.
- Perform light maintenance on equipment.
- Use supportive hand tools as needed.
- Read and interpret routings, process sheets, and shop orders; participate in cross-training as required.
- Maintain product traceability and ensure alloy identification accuracy.
- Document orders and enter data with precision.
- Identify and communicate quality issues throughout the production process.
- Lift up to 50 lbs or use a hoist for heavier materials.
- Troubleshoot and resolve operational issues as they arise.
- Collaborate with engineering support to identify opportunities for material and process improvements.
- Regularly step up and down steps and stand for extended periods.
- Work in high-heat environments with ambient temperatures reaching up to 105°F.
- Conduct visual inspections, ensuring small defect identification.
- Operate additional machines as assigned.
- Perform other duties and overtime as required.
QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS:
- Experience working in a manufacturing environment is required.
- Strong communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks, work independently, and meet deadlines.
- Fork Truck License required for most melt and extrusion positions at the Warwick Plant.
- Basic math skills.
- Strong mechanical aptitude.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Frequently lift and/or drag up to 50 lbs throughout the shift.
- Operate and maneuver hoists for material loads up to 200 lbs.
- Push up to 200+ lbs on wheels.
- Frequently bend, squat, and reach throughout the shift.
- Work with and around hot materials.
- Regularly use vibratory tools.
- Work in a non-climate-controlled environment.
- Stand and walk for extended periods.
EDUCATION:
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Prior experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
