Description

One of Atlanta's premier golf clubs is looking to hire talented and driven culinarians. Candidates must have at least 2 years’ experience working in a professional kitchen and be able to work under a certified master chef. Must be available to work all shifts including; evenings, weekends, and holidays. This is a full-time position which has access to very desirable benefits including paid vacation, 401k, health, dental, and vision insurance.


Job Summary:

We are seeking a passionate and skilled Pastry Cook to join our kitchen team. The Pastry Cook will be responsible for creating high-quality baked goods, including cakes, cookies, tarts, pies, and other desserts. The ideal candidate should have a strong knowledge of classic pastry techniques and be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.


Key Responsibilities:

· Prepare and bake a variety of pastries, desserts, cakes, cookies, and other baked goods.

· Follow recipes and maintain consistency in taste and presentation.

· Create and decorate pastries and desserts to a high standard.

· Ensure food safety and hygiene standards are met.

· Manage the inventory of baking ingredients and ensure proper storage.

· Work with the kitchen team to meet production timelines and service needs.

· Assist in creating new menu items and special dessert offerings.

· Monitor and maintain the quality of ingredients used.

· Operate and maintain bakery equipment, ensuring all tools and machinery are clean and in good working condition.

Requirements

Qualifications:

· Proven experience as a Pastry Cook or Baker.

· Formal culinary training or certification in pastry arts is preferred.

· Knowledge of baking techniques, ingredients, and processes.

· Strong attention to detail, particularly with presentation and flavor combinations.

· Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.

· Excellent organizational and time management skills.

· Flexibility to work early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.

· Ability to lift heavy bags of flour, sugar, and other ingredients, and stand for long periods.


Preferred Skills:

· Ability to develop new pastry and dessert recipes.

· Experience in working with specialized dietary needs (e.g., gluten-free, vegan, etc.).

· Knowledge of modern pastry trends and techniques.


Position Classification and Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position. The assigned hours to this position vary each week according to event schedules, but include working on holidays and weekends.
