Position Duties

  • Master's degree in Student Affairs, Higher Education Administration, Business Administration, Facility Management, or related field required
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in higher education administration, student affairs, or facility management
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities with attention to detail
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with diverse stakeholders
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and database management
  • Knowledge of higher education policies and procedures
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities and deadlines
  • Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed for events and facility operations
  • Physical ability to perform light lifting and event setup activities
  • Strong customer service skills for working with students, faculty, staff, and external groups
  • Knowledge of federal regulations affecting higher education (Title IX, ADA, FERP A, etc.) preferred

Other Qualifications

Facility Management and Operations

  • Assist Director with daily operations of Student Union facilities including room reservations, vendor coordination, and event support
  • Coordinate facility maintenance requests with NSU Physical Plant and monitor building systems functionality 
  • Assist with event setup coordination and facility preparation for university and external groups
  • Support summer camp programs and special events hosted within the facility 
  • Assist in maintaining Student Union website content and digital marquee displays
  • Assist in recruiting, training, and supervising student workers in Student Union operations 
  • Handle timekeeping, payroll processing, and scheduling for undergraduate and graduate student employees
  • Support data collection and analysis on program outcomes and facility satisfaction
  • Proficiency with facility management software, Event Management Systems, and student information systems
Student Engagement and Programming
  • Demonstrated experience in event planning and program coordination
  • Assist in implementing programming, social engagement, and student services that contribute to a vibrant Student Union
  • Support comprehensive event scheduling and coordination for university groups utilizing Student Union spaces
  • Assist with developing and implementing event policies and procedures to ensure university and state compliance
  • Support programming initiatives and special events throughout the Student Experience Division
Administrative Support and Budget Management
  • Process purchasing requests, receiving reports, travel authorizations, and expense reports
  • Experience with budget management, purchasing processes, and financial record keeping
  • Serve on university committees as directed by the Vice President for the Student Experience
