Job Duties and Responsibilities

 

 

  • General Ledger and Journal Entries:
    1. Maintain accurate general ledger and sub-ledgers in line with GAAP.
    2. Prepare journal entries with proper supporting documentation.
    3. Create new general ledger codes as needed and ensure systematic consistency.
  • Account Reconciliation and Reporting:
    1. Perform mid-level account reconciliations and investigate/correct discrepancies.
    2. Assist in monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes, including preparing accruals and reconciling accounts.
    3. Produce financial statements, management reports, and variance analyses.
    4. Prepare documentation for internal and external audits as needed.
  • Cost Accounting & Inventory:
    1. Participate in inventory counts and verify the accuracy of inventory-related data.
    2. Assist in gross margin analysis for products and support cost accounting initiatives.

 

  • System Integration and Automation:
    1. Leverage Airbase for pre-accounting approvals and spend management.
    2. Use FloQast to automate reconciliations, manage close checklists, and streamline workflows, integrating directly with Sage for month-end processes.
    3. Utilize Sage for general accounting, financial reporting, and process automation.
    4. Support IT or systems teams as necessary to resolve accounting software issues.

Experience and Education

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Preferably 2+ years’ experience in a manufacturing or related environment.
  • Proficiency with Airbase, FloQast, and Sage (especially Sage X3); strong Excel skills.
  • Understanding cost accounting, inventory controls, and manufacturing processes.
  • Analytical thinker; highly organized with keen attention to detail.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and work collaboratively across teams.
  • Previous exposure to cost/variance analysis, inventory management, and reconciliations within an ERP setting.
  • SEC filings experience preferred.
