MISSION STATEMENT:

PRIMARY FUNCTION:[1] Greet and assist, in person or by phone, individuals contacting YWCA Kalamazoo Dreamery; assist with administrative duties; act in a professional manner at all times; able to demonstrate and adhere to the mission of YWCA Kalamazoo; and able to maintain strict confidentiality.
QUALIFICATIONS:[2]
- High school diploma or equivalent required. Completion of some college coursework preferred.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to multitask and remain calm in a fast-paced environment
- Familiarity with childcare licensing regulations and safety procedures is a plus..
- Proficiency in basic computer applications, including Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Publisher)
- Must pass background checks and meet health requirements as mandated by state regulations.

RESPONSIBILITIES:[3]
- Serve as back up for classroom support.
- Project a positive image of the agency and its programs to the community.
- Greet families, children, and visitors with professionalism and warmth upon arrival.
- Verify authorization for individuals dropping off or picking up children using the center’s approved list and identification protocols.
- Answer and direct incoming calls, take messages, and respond to inquiries.
- Monitor front desk entrance to ensure only authorized individuals enter the facility.
- Assist with administrative tasks such as filing, data entry, and maintaining child records.
- Communicate effectively with staff regarding child attendance, visitor arrivals, and any concerns.
- Enact safety plan as directed.
- Maintain confidentiality of child and family information at all times.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

- While performing the duties of this job, the noise level in the work environment is usually quiet.
- The employee must occasionally lift and /or move more than 15 pounds.
TRAINING REQUIREMENTS:[5]
- Orientation to YWCA Personnel Policies, Mission, Purpose and One Imperative.
- Racial Justice Training
- Orientation to Domestic Violence, Sexual Assault, Confidentiality, Mandatory Reporting.
- Other appropriate training and in-service which will occur during employment.
- Health and Safety/OSHA and Emergency Procedures Orientation.
