Job Summary Description:
The Fabricator/Machinist supports trenchless pipeline rehabilitation and utility construction operations by producing, assembling, and maintaining equipment and components. This role involves operating fabrication and machining tools to build and repair parts critical to PURIS’s trenchless technologies, ensuring safe, accurate, and efficient project execution in alignment with company goals and strategies.
Essential Job Accountabilities:
Fabricate, machine, and assemble components used in trenchless pipeline rehabilitation equipment and utility construction projects.
Operate fabrication and machining tools such as saws, drills, grinders, lathes, or milling machines to modify and repair parts.
Read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, and equipment specifications to produce accurate components.
Assist with setup, maintenance, and repair of specialized trenchless equipment, including pipe-handling systems and rehabilitation machinery.
Perform grinding, sanding, painting, and other mechanical duties assigned by the shop or foreman.
Ensure all work meets PURIS quality and safety standards to support reliable field operations.
Manually handle and move pipe, tools, and materials to and from equipment as needed.
Follow all company policies, procedures, and safety practices.
Perform duties within guidelines of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for assigned functions.
Education:
Previous fabrication, machining, or utility construction experience preferred
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Skilled in operating fabrication and machining equipment to produce precision parts
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, pipeline schematics, and equipment manuals
Familiarity with utility construction materials such as steel, PVC, and composite pipe
Strong attention to detail with the ability to ensure equipment reliability in the field
Ability to work independently as well as part of a construction team
Problem-solving and troubleshooting skills for mechanical and equipment-related issues
Knowledge of safety practices in heavy construction or utility environments
Additional Requirements/Skills:
Valid state issued driver’s license
Travel may be required to support field projects
